What is National Vocation Awareness Week?
National Vocation Awareness Week (NVAW) is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood & religious life, Married life and consecrated life through prayer and education.
- Established by the U.S. bishops to promote awareness and support of vocations
- Encourages youth and families to reflect on God’s call in their lives

Ways to Celebrate NVAW
Pray for Vocations
Include specific prayers for vocations during Mass, in classrooms, and at home.
Classroom Activities
Have students research different vocations and present what they learn.
Invite a Guest
Invite a priest, religious sister or brother to share their vocation story.

Organize a vocation-themed art contest for students to express their understanding of calling.
